Blue October – currently consisting of band members Justin Furstenfeld, Jeremy Furstenfeld, Ryan Delahoussaye, C.B. Hudson and Matt Novesky – first burst onto the music scene in the late 1990s with their debut album “The Answers.” Following that record’s breakout success, the band was signed to Universal Records, which released their following three albums: “Consent to Treatment,” “History for Sale” and “Foiled.” The latter dominated the Billboard charts, going platinum and selling over 1 million copies while earning the band spots opening for the Rolling Stones and playing on Late Night With Conan O’Brien and Jimmy Kimmel Live.

Blue October’s fifth studio album, “Approaching Normal,” debuted at #13 on the Billboard 200 chart in 2009 and spawned hit singles “Dirt Room” and “Say It.” On June 1, the band announced they are beginning preproduction on their sixth studio album, which will be produced by Tim Palmer (U2, The Cure, Pearl Jam).

The band’s Traverse City performance will mark a homecoming for one of its members – bassist Matt Novesky. Novesky grew up learning to play music in Northern Michigan, graduating from Saint Francis High School in 1994. When not touring with Blue October, Novesky works with up-and-coming artists in Detroit and Austin through his production company 116, formed with producer/engineer Chuck Alkazian.
